CONSERVATIVES OFTEN INVOKE THE 1950s AS THE "GOOD OLD DAYS"...

and temporarily leaving aside the racial and sexual discrimination of those days, they don't seem to remember that during the 50s, common decency was the norm and that means creeps like Brian Kilmeade would have been fired for this outrage:

The video, obtained by TMZ, shows a man believed to be Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancee earlier this year in an elevator at an Atlantic City hotel. Rice was later dealt a mere two-game suspension after being indicted for aggravated assault.

After reading out viewers’ reactions to the new video, co-host Steve Doocy pointed out that the victim, Janay Palmer, went on to marry Rice.

Brian Kilmeade chimed in with what he thought was a relevant pop-culture parallel: singer Rihanna’s rocky relationship history with fellow artist Chris Brown, who assaulted her in 2009.

“Rihanna went back to Chris brown right after,” he said. “A lot of people thought that was a terrible message.”

Doocy then brought up how pop star Beyonce’s sister was caught on video attacking Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z earlier this summer inside an elevator at a New York City hotel.
“But you notice Jay-Z didn’t hit back,” Kilmeade said. “I think the message is take the stairs.”
The comment drew laughs from his co-hosts.
