Ted Cruz scared a little girl by claiming that "The whole world’s on fire" and a few days later, Huge Ego Hewitt uses practically the same line to justify a large increase in the defense budget:

With a world on fire and threats to the homeland as well as allies growing daily, posturing over Pentagon spending should become a toxic indulgence for incumbents.
