In response to the June 26 letter to the editor "Eager Dupes":
A couple of the writers' assertions are wrong. The authenticity of the Downing Street minutes is not disputed by British officials, and the original documents were definitely not destroyed.
If our president conspired to deceive and mislead Congress and the American people about the reasons for going to war against Iraq, then the American people, and especially the brave men and women fighting this war, are owed an official investigation into whether or not the president committed an impeachable offense.
