I'm listening to the Tammy Bruce Show and she's attempting to provide justifications for Pat Robertson's remarks about assassinating Hugo Chavez. Her show is carried by KNST, one of the 2 stations in Tucson that push the radical right agenda.
A caller disagreed with her and Tammy asked him to hold on and she would continue talking with him after the break. Tammy claimed that the election that placed Chavez in power was illegitimate and he is a corrupt, despotic ruler.
Another caller said assassination was against the 10 Commandments. Tammy said that Chavez was a psychopath, just like Kim Il Jong in N. Korea. Bingo! --> The caller then said that using her logic, Cindy Sheehan would be justified in calling for the assassination of President Bush. That was too much for Tammy, so she ended the call and babbled about moral relativism.
Tammy then spent some time detailing the evil things Chavez has done, such as embracing terrorists and dictators who sponsor terrorism. According to Tammy, these include Carlos "The Jackal," Saddam and Iran. I guess she missed it when the Prime Minister of Iraq visited Iran, seeking stronger ties and placed a wreath on Khomeini's tomb. (See BillMon for details)
Tammy then said she agrees with Robertson. Her only questions were if assassination was Christian and if Robertson should've said that in public.
Another caller also disagreed with Tammy and she said that Chavez was opening Venezuela to Al-Queda and providing it with financial support. This was supposedly the testimony of a former Venezuelan military officer before Congress.
Overall, Tammy resorted to a tactic familiar to us who pay attention to the seditious Right: make up claims to support your position. She can be confident that her listeners won't catch her lies.
