This afternoon, Shammity had Ken Mehlman AND Karl Rove on to defend the UAE/Ports deal. This seems like a waste of PR resources because they both had the same talking points but it is an indication that the WH realizes Fredo's been hurt by this blunder. Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R- AZ) was also on and he opposes the deal.

Talk of the Nation had a 3 guest segment on the port deal and James Carafano, a senior hack from the Heritage Foundation, defended it. Rep. Shay (R-CT) was opposed. Carafano and another hack have a paper defending the deal here and it calls for the Congress to review the deal for 45 days, something that I didn't catch in his interview.
