ANOTHER TIME-DELAYED LTE

Like my last one, I never thought this one would make it.

A right-wing think tank

Re: the April 17 article "Heated-planet alarmists formerly saw new Ice Age."

Jack Strayer is identified as a writer for the National Center for Policy Analysis, but the center itself is not identified.

The center is a member of a national network of right-wing think tanks and is mostly supported by right-wing foundations.

One of the purposes of the center is to privatize the Environmental Protection Agency, a task that will be much easier to accomplish if, as Strayer falsely claims, there is nothing to global warming.

Even better, another LTE in the same edition had the same thought:

Honest opinions, not propaganda

Before the Star prints a column, it should check on its source. The National Center for Policy Analysis is a right-wing propaganda machine. I want different opinions to help me decide on issues, and going to the extreme is not helpful.

Global warming is an accepted fact among diverse communities such as scientists and evangelical Christian groups. If the Star's goal is to create controversy and get letters like this one, then you succeeded. The Star's goal should be to give honest opinions, not propaganda.
