Bob Woodward's new book, "State of Denial," asserts that:
"But Tenet had been having difficulty getting traction on an immediate bin Laden action plan, in part because Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld had questioned all the intelligence, asking: Could it all be a grand deception? "
Of course, Rummy had no problem with the Iraq "intelligence," as Henry Waxman's invaluable online database of Bush regime lies makes clear:
"We said they had a nuclear program. There was never any debate. "Source: This Week with George Stephanopoulos, ABC (7/13/2003).
"We have seen . . . intelligence over--over months, over many months that they have chemical and biological weapons, and that they have dispersed them and that they're weaponized . . . ." Source: Secretary Donald Rumsfeld discusses the war in Iraq, CBS (3/23/2003).
"The regime plays host to terrorists, including Al Qaida, as the president indicated." Source: Donald Rumsfeld and Richard Myers Hold Regular Defense Department Briefing, Defense Department (1/29/2003).
