I REPLY TO WAR WHORE LIEBERMAN

What I Saw in Iraq
Iran remains a problem,
but Anbar has joined the fight against terror.

The officials I met in Baghdad said that 90% of suicide bombings in Iraq today are the work of non-Iraqi, al Qaeda terrorists.

There's no reason to believe these officials because they or their predecessors have been wrong since April, 2003.

Its obvious aim is to use Sunni-Shia bloodshed to collapse the Iraqi government and create a failed state in the heart of the Middle East, radicalizing the region and providing a base from which to launch terrorist attacks against the West.

The Iraq government exists in name only and is merely a disguise for what already is a failed state. The region has been radicalized for years and our occupation has only made things worse. If we were truly concerned about preventing Al Qaeda from having a base of operations in Iraq, we would've put 30,000 troops in Anbar province, not Baghdad.

Facts on the ground also compel us to recognize that Iran is doing everything in its power to drive us out of Iraq...

The insurgency is self-sustaining and doesn't need any help from Iran.

American soldiers ... are fighting because a failed state in the heart of the Middle East, overrun by al Qaeda and Iran, would be a catastrophe for American national security and our safety here at home.

Al Qaeda won't overrun Iraq and there is enough nationalist sentiment, especially among the Iraqi Shia, to prevent Iran from making Iraq a puppet state.

I conclude from my visit that victory is still possible in Iraq...

I conclude that Lieberman seems to think Tel Aviv is the capitol of America.
