CALLER: From the great state of Michigan, contrary to the fact that we have two of the most liberal senators in the senate, you've got Levin and Stabenow. Sorry to report on that. Rush, the reason I'm calling, sometimes in the liberal media, it seems like every other day, with the troops in Iraq, they report how long they're there. They're there for six months, they're there up to 13 months sometimes, and how dare they have to stay there that long in combat and battle.
RUSH: As a society and culture, we have elements who have become sissified, not nearly as tough. Life has become easy and challenges are not familiar, and hardships, we make ours up. I'm not saying we don't have any, there's some hardships out there, but we've got a wuss culture in parts of our culture. I'm not talking about the military. They're not complaining.
I guess Fats didn't hear about Apache Company and has forgotten about the 2nd Battle Combat Team and he obviously never reads the letters to Stars & Stripes, such as this one and this one.
Insannity is still spewing lies, fears and smears. He started by claiming that ALL the Democrats supported the AUMF when a majority of the Democrats in Congress didn't. He blamed "the extreme left" for the Democrats position on the Iraq War and I assume his stupid and ignorant listeners won't know that almost 2 out of 3 Americans agree with the so-called extreme left as this recent poll shows:
CBS News/New York Times Poll. July 9-17, 2007. N=1,554 adults nationwide. MoE
± 3.
"Which of these comes closest to your opinion? Congress should block all funding for the war in Iraq no matter what. OR, Congress should allow funding, but only on the condition that the U.S. sets a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops. OR, Congress should allow all funding for the war without any timetable conditions."
Block All 8%
Timetable 61%
Allow All 28%
Unsure 3%
Insannity kept up Cheney's hysterical meme about how Western Civilization is at stake in the Iraq War.
