ONE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IRAQ AND VIETNAM

The unpopularity of the Vietnam War led to unpopularity of the military. This linkage hasn't happened with the unpopular Iraq War. Graphics from Pew Research.

two things

in both images the light blue lines go up, the dark blue lines go down, so both show the same thing

and to add context

the vietnam time frame is 8 years, the iraq time frame is 5 years, ask the same question in 2010

the first question is on the "military leaders" (civlians lead them, no ??)

the second question is on "the military" proper, and people don't have a problem with them, only their civilian leaderhsip

No, both don't show the same thing. In the Iraq graph, the attitudes toward the military have flattened out.
