This is the same wingnut think-tank that Fats Limbaugh thinks so highly of, so you can imagine it is filled to the rafters with partisan hacks. Fredo had the nerve to say "We must take the words of the enemy seriously. " when he ignored the August 6, 2001 PDB. His administration also has a history of using terror for political gain, in one case outing a mole in Al Qaeda. At Heritage, he repeated the LIE that Iraq was a threat to us and pulled a Podhoretz by comparing Bin Laden to Lenin and Hitler. He then made a new LIE by claiming that the senators on the Judiciary committee wanted Mukasey to make a legal determination on interrogation techniques, techniques Fredo claimed Mukasey isn't fully aware of. In fact, the senators simply wanted to know if Mukasey considered water-boarding torture.
The rest of his speech was filled with the same tired rhetoric that's been used for the past 6 years: "at time of war"; " we will fight them overseas so we do not have to fight them here at home."; "We are at war". I know this sort of agit-prop will play well with, say, Mark Levin's true believers but I doubt many others will fall for it.
