Frederick Crews has justly criticized psychoanalysis and the recovered memories movement on the grounds that they are not empirically based and rely on ad hominem attacks to defend themselves. We all know that conservatives blame liberals for almost anything and when confronted with dissenting views, often denigrate them as "liberal."
Jonah Goldberg takes the same approach when he attempts to dismiss the consensus opinions of historians about fascists and Fascism:
Yes, it’s true. Many historians call Nazism a right-wing enterprise. One of the arguments of my book is to demonstrate that these historians are wrong to do so. If that enrages the trade guild controlling most of academia, them’s the breaks.
By "trade guild," Goldberg means the leftists in Academia who according to Crazy Davy Horowitz are ruining the minds of college students.
