THE BS EXPRESS AT WORK

UPDATE: (h/t Atrios) ThinkProgress found that McWar is a big fibber:
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, McCain has taken nearly $1.2 million in campaign contributions from the telephone utility and telecom service industries, more than any other Senator. McCain sides with the telecom companies on retroactive immunity.

Huffington Post reported recently:

All told, McCain has received more than $400,000 from lobbying firms, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. And among his major fundraisers (”bundlers”) 59 have been identified as lobbyists by the non-profit organization Public Citizen.

McWar says he's been clean since Keating. This is hard to believe.

TOLEDO, Ohio (Reuters) - Republican presidential front-runner John McCain on Thursday dismissed as untrue a New York Times report suggesting he had a close and possibly romantic relationship with a female lobbyist nine years ago, a potentially embarrassing conflict of interest.

"At no time have I ever done anything that would betray the public trust or make a decision which in any way would not be in the public interest and would favor any one or any organization," said McCain, who has promoted higher ethics among lawmakers since a brush with scandal 20 years ago.
