WINGNUT MEDIOCRITIES IN THE MAINSTREAM

It's hard for me not to get pissed when I come across right-wing idiots getting soapboaxes in the national press. First it was Hillary-hater Dick Morris getting an op-ed in the WaPo and stupidly claiming that McCain can win by going toward the Center when the GOP's base already doesn't like him for not being enough of an extremist. Then it was William "The Bloody" Kristol making this stupid remark in his NY Times column:
1. On Tuesday night, while the G.O.P. Congressional candidate was losing in a Mississippi district George Bush carried in 2004 by 25 points, Barack Obama was being trounced in the West Virginia Democratic primary — by 41 points. I can’t find a single recent instance of a candidate who ultimately became his party’s nominee losing a primary by this kind of margin.

Jerry Skurnik at the Room Eight blog points out that Kristol hasn't even paid attention to the current GOP race:
It took me all of 2 minutes to find what Kristol couldn’t find -

Utah Updated 11:02 a.m. EST, Feb 14, 2008

Romney 255,218 90%

McCain 15,264 5%

Paul 8,295 3%

Huckabee 4,054 2%

Why doesn't anyone at the NYT fact-check Kristol?
