In this column, "Getting to Know Obama," Broder covers up for McCain and attacks Obama. Here's part of the cover[up:
McCain benefits from a long-established reputation as a man who says what he believes. His shifts in position that have occurred in this campaign seem not to have damaged that aura.
Broder should've mentioned how many times McCain has reversed and contradicted himself so his readers could get a feel for how much he lies about himself. Broder turns the issue of town halls into a question about Obama, "what makes him tick?" instead of pointing out that anger makes McCain "tick."
NOTE: The source of the "sticky wet" remark is Albee's play, The American Dream.
