McCain unsure how many houses he owns

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said in an interview Wednesday that he was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own.

"I think — I'll have my staff get to you," McCain told Politico in Las Cruces, N.M. "It's condominiums where — I'll have them get to you."

The radio gasbags were all over this, trying to cover for McCain. Fats, Hannity and Medved were all on defense today and I suspect more gasbags were. Hannity had the nerve to say that no one asks this question of Democrats, hoping that his listeners wouldn't remember the treatment Kerry and Teresa got in 2004 about houses, some of it probably from Hannity himself.

The really important point here is that McCain's remarks demolish any plans to present him as a regular guy versus Obama the elitist. This is a HUGE setback for McCain's campaign and the wingnuts know it, that's why they are spending so much time defending McCain.
