GOP == NO ACCOUNTABILITY

It's easy to accuse the GOP of being a party of hypocrites but the important point is to use their hypocrisy to attack their memes. The sex and financial scandals of 2005-2006 helped the Democrats regain the majority in both Houses in part because they weakened the claim of the GOP to be the party of "family values."

We can also attack another GOP meme that is part of the American ethos - individualism and personal responsibility. Today we have 2 more instances of the GOP not holding people or corporations accountable:

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Michael Mukasey on Tuesday rejected the idea of criminally prosecuting former Justice Department employees who improperly used political litmus tests in hiring decisions, saying he had already taken strong internal steps in response to a “painful” episode.
