ANDY McCARTHY SPINNING FOR PALIN

He tries to defend Palin's lack of knowledge about the Bush Doctrine by claiming it was nothing new. As we saw below, it was NEW:
Legal scholars and international jurists often conditioned the legitimacy of preemption on the existence of an imminent threat—most often a visible mobilization of armies, navies, and air forces preparing to attack.

We must adapt the concept of imminent threat to the capabilities and objectives of today’s adversaries.

McCarthy then gives an example that defeats his own argument:
News Flash for you Democrats and media types out there: About 40 years before there was a Bush Doctrine, JFK was relying on the self-defense right of preemptive attack during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
