AS USUAL, CONTEXT MATTERS

Prominent wingers are calling Judge Sotomayor a racist for this remark:
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life,"

Sotomayor said this in the context of discussing what effect having more women and people of color on the Federal courts would have on "decisions in race and sex discrimination cases." The context removes any basis for the racism smears. The NY Times has provided the entire transcript.

I suspect the wingers won't ever get around to reading the entire lecture and sharing that knowledge with their followers.
