Matt Yglesias makes an interesting point about the recent wingnut whining about Nancy Pelosi: it served to make a real investigation into U.S. torture more acceptable. There may be several Dem lawmakers who will get hurt by this but that's nothing compared to what will happen to the war criminals: Bush, Cheney, Addington, etc.
Were the wingnut wizards hoping to scare off the liberals who wanted a real investigation? If so, they completely misread their opponents.
