During his interview with Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck said that the "paradigm" was changing and he compared today to the Industrial Revolution, both in size of effect and obviousness. The problem with this analysis that the IR took place over decades and it wasn't clear at the time that these incremental changes would lead to something that could be called a revolution.
I think this is worth noting because Beck and other wingers, but especially Beck, discuss the changes to America in almost apocalyptic terms that's meant to terrify the rubes (and it has!), as if America were about to collapse in the very near future.
