19th CENTURY TRIVIA

Some conservatives are so annoyed by my J.S. Mill signature that they falsely claim that he had a serious mental breakdown in an effort to discredit him.  ( Mill did have a bout of what seems to be depression but he kept on working during it and made a full recovery.)  There were however two other thinkers of the period who did have breakdowns, Auguste Comte (1798-1857) and Henri de Saint-Simon (1760-1825).
