IN DEFENSE OF POOR TASTE

Sometimes a joke gets some of its emotional strength from the fact that it's in poor taste, something I have a fair share of, at least for a guy, so I was a little miffed that two people were fired for making what I consider to be normal, poor taste jokes,  Dan Turner (Haley Barbour's Press Secretary) and Gilbert Gottfried.

On the other hand, a politician suggesting that we send the mentally defective to Siberia is NOT merely in poor taste, especially given the dark side of the eugenics movement in the 20th Century.
