Andrew "The Mullah Slayer" McCarthy accurately describes what causes Islamic terrorism in the National Review:

What really increases terrorist recruitment is invading Muslim countries, killing Muslims there, and staying to try to build Western democracies.

Earlier in his post, McCarthy explains that Muslims simply don't want democracy:

Muslims don’t want our democracy because they believe their civilization — including its law and desired political structure — is superior.

This puts another harpoon in the "They hate us for our freedoms" meme the wingers have used for years.
