THIS IS DEPRESSING
Among the developed countries, Americans are almost unique in their belief in the Christian Sky God and that has serious consequences for our country. The percentage of people who don't believe natural selection is a fact is closer to many 3rd world countries than to most of Western Europe.

The only broadly strong expression of Christianity, so-called, today in the US is apocalyptic evangelicalism which any good religious historian will tell you is generally shallow on soteriology and big on a jejune comic book cartoonish theology of
doom, not conducive to the transmission of traditional spiritual values/folkways,even those you oppose.
