According to Steve Benen, Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) is one of Congress’ more notable right-wing freshmen. He also sounds pretty much like Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Beck, Levin and almost certainly many other right-wing gasbags:
It pains me to say this, but President Obama is not pro-Israel.That's not as bad as claiming Pres. Obama is an anti-Semite but it's close enough to encourage people who do believe that.
Walsh recognizes a minor problem with his position: a lot of American Jews don't buy it. His solution is attack them for also not being pro-Israel:
Like the president, the U.N., and most of Europe, too many American Jews aren’t as pro-Israel as they should be and too many share his belief that the Palestinians are victims of Israeli occupation.
