Do you think that Republicans ought to buck the public opposition and really move forward to completely change Medicare , turn it into a voucher program where you give seniors...Admitting that a GOP proposal is unpopular cuts against the conservative meme that they comprise 40% of the country, so it's no wonder that as far as I know, none of the gasbags have addressed this telling point.

Don't most progs (and many-most others)believe that the manner in which Obama initially gave way on single payer and public option went against the grain of what polls of the public's preferences revealed?
Possible in some way setting the stage for what you're commenting on?
