Today on NPR, a pollster claimed that the Iowa results from the major polling firms weren't accurate because too many Iowans say they aren't a "likely voter." The best way to estimate who is a likely voter in Iowa is to get the list of previous caucus goers, something only the two state parties have.
I wonder why the polling firms haven't told us this on their own.
