A FOOTNOTE ABOUT A MARINE SERGEANT

The short version:
Sgt. Gary Stein is being given an other-than-honorable discharge for violating the Pentagon's rules limiting the speech of members of the armed forces, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego said in a statement.
Naturally, far-right rag Human Events interviewed Stein and he said something that did make a lot of sense to me:
Still, he said when people called him the conservative voice of his generation, it made him thoughtful. “I’d like to get into talk radio,” he said. “Obviously, I like to talk. And I think I’m very articulate.”

Here's the interesting footnote:
One lawyer who represented Stein, David Loy, legal director for the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties, told POLITICO that he is "disappointed" by the decision. "We think it violates free speech and due process."

Going forward, Stein's lawyers will continue pursuing any available legal options to challenge the discharge, Loy said.

Far right, pro-military gasbags often to the ACLU as the "American Criminal Liberties Union."
