MORE GOP HARM TO OUR HEALTH

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) has single-handedly ruined the GOP's lame attempts to court Hispanic voters:
King, one of Capitol Hill’s biggest immigration hardliners, had said in the interview with the conservative news site Newsmax that a wide swath of immigrants who were brought into the United States illegally as children were smuggling drugs into the country.

“Some of them are valedictorians, and their parents brought them in,” King said in the interview. “It wasn’t their fault. It’s true in some cases, but they aren’t all valedictorians. They weren’t all brought in by their parents.“

For everyone who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert,” King added. “Those people would be legalized with the same act.”

He voted against the amendment:

I suppose it could be argued sympathetically that if liberal and libertarian and Chamber of Commerce immigration softies and cheap labor lovers get their way, it could lead to the break up of the stability of the State and the State's evil Empire faster than the status quo, but would that make me a nihilist?
