I HOPE THIS GETS INTO SOME U.S. MASS MEDIA OUTLET

It's an opinion from a former VERY high official in U.S.military intelligence, Gem. Michael Flynn (Ret):
Ex-US Intelligence Chief on Islamic State's Rise: 'We Were Too Dumb'

Interview Conducted By Matthias Gebauer and Holger Stark
November 29, 2015 – 07:11 PM
SPIEGEL ONLINE

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The Islamic State wouldn't be where it is now without the fall of Baghdad. Do you regret ...

Flynn: ... yes, absolutely ...

SPIEGEL ONLINE: ... the Iraq war?

Flynn: It was huge error. As brutal as Saddam Hussein was, it was a mistake to just eliminate him. The same is true for Moammar Gadhafi and for Libya, which is now a failed state. The historic lesson is that it was a strategic failure to go into Iraq. History will not be and should not be kind with that decision.

Should eliminate Clinton from consideration; however, Sanders has really been less anti-Elite than Eugene McCarthy, for example, and has largely let Clinton off the hook. Matter of fact, though Sanders gets the ink for being a radical, if you check the voting record of e.g. Dennis Kucinich, who never declared himself a socialist, it is significantly more hardline left across the board.
