Background: Joe Galloway is the the senior military correspondent for Knight Ridder Newspapers and co-author of the national best-seller "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young." Larry Di Rita is Rummy's head flak catcher.
Larry Johnson at Booman Tribune posts a revealing e-mail exchange between Galloway and Di Rita. This passage by Di Rita stood out for me:
You talk about "rumsfeld's fondest ideas and theories" as if you have the first clue as to what those are. I have worked with him side-by-side for five years, and I wouldn't even try to divine what his fondest ideas and theories are.
This reflects very poorly on both Di Rita and Rumsfeld.
