RUSH: What? Am I going to apologize? It is I who am owed an apology.
He describes the outrage over his "phony soldiers" statement as nothing more than a smear and pretends that he was talking about a specific soldier:
The morning update on Wednesday dealt with a soldier, a fake, phony soldier by the name of Jesse MacBeth who never served in Iraq; he was never an Army Ranger.
Now, we've all had a chance to read the transcript and there was no mention of Macbeth before the remarks. Fats was referring to any soldier who was anti-war, something he has done before. Just like the wingnuts did with Ward Churchill, Fats goes on to claim that MacBeth was "a hero to the anti-war left."
Fats goes further and brings up the smears the Swiftboat Vets used against John Kerry as if they were facts and neglects to mention that Tommy Franks agreed with Kerry's 1971 assessment of Vietnam.
In the end, Fats tries the Big Lie one more time:
I was talking about one soldier with that phony soldier comment, Jesse MacBeth.
