REACTIONS TO FATS LIMBAUGH'S ATTACK ON OUR SOLDIERS

UPDATE: Digby reminds us that Fats Limbaugh has attacked retired Gen. Wesley Clark on several occasions. Digby also notes that in 2004, Fats was given the Statesmanship award by the Claremont Institute. (Rumsfeld will get his this November.)

Via Memeorandum (1:05 AM ET, September 28, 2007 ), I found several great replies from decent people.

At ThinkProgress, Faiz asks if the Senate will vote to condemn Fats as it did MoveOn? Nicole and John at Crooks & Liars put up the contacts for some of the Democrat leaders who voted to condemn MoveOn and ask if McCain and Lieberman will condemn Limbaugh as they did MoveOn. Greg Sargent at TPM Election Central has collected some of the early reactions by Democrats, my favorite being this one from Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA), an Iraq war vet himself:

Someone should tell chicken-hawk Rush Limbaugh that the only phonies are those who choose not to serve and then criticize those who do. I served proudly, so did two of my fellow paratroopers in the 82nd Airborne who spoke out and died just weeks ago. Generations of American veterans have worn the uniform with pride and we know it is no contradiction to serve your country and still disagree with the Bush-civilian leadership that mismanaged this war.”

John Bruhns, an Iraq vet posting at AmericaBlog, has a nice summary postion: "LIMBAUGH IS A DISGRACE." ThinkProgress also notes two other Dems who have spoken out against Fats, Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL).

I poked around at what the non-decent people had to say and found this ideological offal:

MACSMIND:

By the way, his and Rush’s opinion is not a lone one among active soldiers by the way, many of whom view “malcontents” with not so loving feelings. In fact as I told you before that back “in the day” we spotted these types in basic training and “marked them” with a special party! You know, to let them know just what they had signed up for in case they forgot.

RIEHL WORLD VIEW:

The Left has been working hard to gin up controversies attacking conservatives, this latest one is a hoot, having watched it unfold until none other than John "If I wasn't in Cambodia I'll eat my hat" Kerry weighs in.

TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK:

The 4-month wonder bloviates as follows at the 'Loon:

As Media Matters reported today, Rush Limbaugh, on his show said
that those troops who come home and want to get America out of the middle of the religious civil war in Iraq are "phony soldiers." I'd love for you, Rush, to have me on your show and tell that to me to my face. Why, Jonny Boy? So Rush can watch you soil yourself...again?

Catch the wave as the cowards cringe.

Perhaps Jonny Boy should check in with "Merry" and "Kurtha" for further talking dulls. We can call them the Three Amoebas.
